Thailand Digital Nomad Visa
The Thai government has recently unveiled the “DTV Visa Thailand,” the Destination Thailand Visa, designed mainly for digital nomads in Thailand. It comes with a raft of other immigration updates and additions intended to improve tourism in the country. While final attributes have not been released, this visa seems ideal for remote workers who want to make extended stops in Thailand for working holidays without bothering about their immigration status.
The Thailand digital nomad visa, officially known as the “Long Term Residents (LTR) Visa,” is a unique entry visa that permits remote workers to work legally and live in Thailand for up to 15 years.
Although popular, the Thailand tourism visa does not satisfy the requirements of remote workers and digital nomads. This new visa form is designed with “high potential” individuals in mind and benefits the latest surge of remote workers.
Benefits of Thailand Digital Nomad Visa
- The income requirements and visa costs for the DTV are lower than those for similar visas offered by other Southeast Asian countries
- Holders of this visa can work for foreign companies remotely without any restrictions
- DTV holders can switch to a different visa while in Thailand, though this will cancel the DTV, and a new application process must be completed
- The number of dependents who can be included on the DTV is not limited, as with the LTR Visa Thailand
