For Indian students, this generally means around 65%–75% or above, depending on your university grading system. Competitive programs such as Data Science, Economics, or Physics may require higher academic performance and subject-specific prerequisites. Final selection also depends on course relevance, statement of purpose, and overall profile strength."

However, students must pay a semester contribution fee of approximately €150–€200 per semester. This covers administrative services and student union benefits. While tuition is minimal, you should budget around €11,000–€12,000 per year for living expenses in Munich, which is one of Germany’s more expensive cities."

Many Master’s programs at LMU Munich are taught in German and require proof of proficiency such as TestDaF level 4, DSH-2, or an equivalent C1-level certificate. However, several international programs are fully taught in English and typically require IELTS 6.5–7.0 or TOEFL scores around 90–100. Even if you enroll in an English-taught program, learning basic German can improve your internship and job prospects in Germany."

Programs with limited seats may have acceptance rates estimated around 10%–20%, depending on demand. Selection is based on academic merit, relevant coursework, research background (if applicable), and motivation letter quality. You can work up to 20 hours per week during the semester and full-time during official semester breaks, within permitted annual limits.
