Why apply for an Australian Business Visa?

  • Attend business events, conferences, meetings, and trade agreements

Types of Business Visas in Australia

Australia offers both short-term and long-term business visa options for entrepreneurs, business owners, and investors seeking to expand their operations in Australia.

The three main types of business visas in Australia are as follows:

Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) – short-term

The Subclass 600 visa is a short-term business visa for foreign nationals seeking to visit Australia for business purposes, such as attending conferences, business meetings, and events. The business visitor visa stream is valid for up to 3 months per visit and can be extended upon eligibility. The Subclass 600 visa does not permit you to work in the country, engage in employment, or participate in sales activities.

Business Innovation and Investment (Subclass 188, closed)

The Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP), also known as the Subclass 188 visa, was permanently closed as of 31 July 2024. While the BIIP has been closed to new applications, existing subclass 188 visa holders can qualify for permanent residency through the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) pathway, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.

National Innovation Visa

The National Innovation and Investment visa was announced as a replacement for the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP). The NIV pathway prioritizes top entrepreneurs, investors, global tech talent, and researchers. The National Innovation visa serves a broader purpose, supporting innovation by creating job opportunities, promoting research, and fostering innovation. To apply for NIV, applicants must first submit an EOI (Expression of Interest) and get an invitation.
