Indian IT professionals in demand in the US
Recent surveys have shown that the US labor market requires highly skilled foreign talent to fill the skills gap. Nasscom has stated that skilled Indian professionals, especially those from the IT field, are required in the US.
The apex industry body stated that the IT sector would be the “lynchpin” for the growth of US economy. US President Donald Trump supports the H-1B visa program as it provides a significant pathway to attract Indian skilled professionals to the country.

US Tech Sector Skills Gap
The Vice President of Nasscom, Shivendra Singh President, has expressed his faith in the Indian IT industry to meet the skills gap in the US. Commenting on this matter, he said, “Our companies have invested USD 1.1 billion in the US for local upskilling, and we are working with 2,55,000 employees who have been up-skilled and 2.9 million students have been positively impacted. So we are doing our bit in the US working with 130-plus universities and colleges to up-skill locally, so we can hire locally”.
US companies headquartered in India account for 8.5% of the 85,000 tech visas, and 70% of H-1b visas are issued to Indian professionals. The US has pledged its commitment to developing the US tech sector and invested around USD 500 billion in AI infrastructure. The country needs skilled Indian talent to boost the economy further.
