If your Work Visa or Qatar ID (QID) expires, you cannot legally work or stay in the country. Your employer must renew the visa before the expiry date. If the visa is not renewed on time, penalties or fines may apply. If you plan to change employers, the transfer must be processed before the visa expires. Staying in Qatar with an expired visa can result in legal action.
