Here are some of the requirements to teach English in Japan:
- A four-year bachelor's degree in any subject
- TEFL / TESOL / CELTA certifications can increase your chances, mainly in private schools or international programs.
- Fluency in English which should be at native or near native level.
- Must secure a job offer from a school or organization in Japan.
- Must apply for only any of these visas: Instructor / Specialist in Humanities/International Services Visa or Highly Skilled Professional Visa
- Must be medically fit and a clean criminal record is usually required.
