An airport transit visa (Type A) is required for travellers who are passing through a Spanish airport without entering the country. It only covers your time in the international transit zone of the airport. This visa is required only for specific nationalities. If you have a valid Schengen visa or a valid visa from the USA, UK, or Canada, you may be exempt from needing an airport transit visa for Spain.
