Sweden announces new grant for researchers
According to recent news, the Swedish Research Council has announced the offer of a grant of 2 million kronor to eligible research scholars outside Europe. Higher education institutes and research organizations in Sweden can apply for funding to offer grants to eligible non-EU students.
The grant aims to cover expenses including accommodation, travelling, and sponsoring family members, along with providing an initial salary and the cost of recruitment. The Director General of the Swedish Research Council stated that the grant is aimed at easing the recruitment of talented research scholars outside Europe. Applications for the grant can be submitted from April 15, 2025, to December 01, 2025.
Who is eligible to receive the grant?
You would be eligible to receive the 2 million kronor grant if you:
- Have a doctoral degree
- Are employed by an eligible administrative organization in Sweden
- Are employed by the HEI
- Are willing to establish your research in Sweden
Note: The grant amount is 2 million SEK and is valid for the duration of 12 months.
