What is the International Experience Canada (IEC)?

The International Experience Canada (IEC) program grants work permits to foreign nationals under the following categories:

  • The Working Holiday category
  • The Young Professionals category
  • The International Co-op category

 

Under the IEC program, youth from foreign countries who maintain youth mobility agreements with Canada can temporarily reside and work in Canada.

Eligibility Criteria for Canada IEC

The eligibility criteria to apply for the Canada IEC program are as follows:

  • Have citizenship of a country that has bYMA with Canada
  • Have an original and valid passport
  • Belong to the 18-35 age group
  • Have a minimum of $2,500 for your expenses
  • Have a valid medical insurance
  • Have admissibility to Canada
  • Do not have the intent to bring your family or dependents to Canada
  • Proof of travel itinerary
  • Complete the required processing fee payments
