An Australian student visa holder can apply for a Subclass 485 post-study work visa. The Post-study work visa is also known as a Graduate Temporary visa. The Subclass 485 visa can be divided into two categories:
Graduate Work visa: This visa is for international graduates with skills related to Australia-nominated occupations. This visa is valid for 18 months.
Graduate Post-study work visa: International students who have completed a bachelor's or Master's degree in Australia can apply for this visa. With this visa, International students are allowed to stay in the country for up to four years. Post-study work visa holders are not mandated to choose occupations on the Skilled Occupation list.
International students under both these visas can live and work anywhere in Australia with their family and study in Australia. They also have the liberty to travel in and out of Australia as long as their visa is valid.
