
The Malaysia Work Visa requirements for overseas workers have been outlined by the Malaysian Government. The terms and conditions for hiring overseas workers are:
- They are allowed to work only in specific sectors and tense are Services, Agriculture, Plantation, Construction, and Manufacturing
- The quota of overseas workers must be taken by the firms/employers from the OSC - One Stop Centre of the Ministry of Home Affairs
- The age must not be more than 45 years and less than 18 years at the time of application
- They must obtain authorized PASS at the source nation from the Immigration Security Clearance
- They must be endorsed as healthy and fit by the approved medical centre in the source nations
- Malaysia Work Visa applicants must not be listed as overseas individuals who are banned from arriving at the nation under the Immigration Act 1959/1963, Section 8 (3)
- They must arrive from approved source nations
Malaysian employers must first apply with a VDR Reference approval to the Immigration Department before hiring overseas workers. The VDR application can be filed online through E-services system or at the Immigration counters. The application must follow the below checklist:
- VDR application form
- Quota approval letter from Home Affairs Ministry
- Payment for levy original receipt
- IM.38 and IM.12 forms
- Bank guarantee/ insurance guarantee/ security bond-deposits
- Passport copy of the overseas worker
- Latest passports size photo of the overseas worker
- Minimum 3-month validity from the date of issuance for the Medical certificates from the medical centre in source nations
- Overseas Worker Compensation Scheme insurance, as quoted by the Imi Gov My
- SPIKPA Health Insurance Protection Scheme Foreign Workers Insurance policy except for Plantation sector
