Austria has been facing a shortage of Doctors since 2022 when there were just 49,000 Healthcare workers. As per the upcoming retirement, the number will drop to 45,500 in the years up to 2030. Approaches taken by the Austrian government for Healthcare sectors

The Austrian government has decided to increase the number of approaches. The first approach was to increase the number of study places, the duration of training, and better facilities, which will increase the number of healthcare workers who want to be part of the country.

 

The Second approach is to focus on hospital training places for specialist training, which also includes general medicine. Currently, around 8,400 people are in specialist training in the hospital.

 

In the coming years, the Austrian government aims to recruit more skilled workers, mostly healthcare professionals. Austria requires around 60,000 to 75,000 healthcare professionals, and there are 200,000 job vacancies in the country's healthcare sector.
