Types of Netherlands work visa

There are different types of work visas in Netherlands under short, temporary, and long term stay. The list of visas is given below:

Short term visa

Schengen category C visas, sometimes referred to as short-stay work visas, are good for up to 90 days, or a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period. This visa is valid for business travel, work-related travel, and temporary positions that don't last longer than three months. Usually, you'll require an invitation to a work-related function or an offer of employment.
 

Temporary visa

In the Netherlands, temporary work permits are only available for contracted positions that last more than three months but no more than a year. List of temporary visas are:

Single Permit (GVVA – Work + Residence Permit)

  • Combines work authorization and residence permit
  • Validity depends on the employment contract (can be less or more than 1 year)

Seasonal Workers Visa

  • For seasonal jobs in agriculture and related sectors
  • Valid for up to 24 weeks within one year

Working Holiday Programme (WHP) Visa

Eligibility for Netherlands Work Visa

To work in the Netherlands, applicants must meet certain basic rules set by the Dutch government. These rules depend on the type of work visa but mainly focus on your job offer, salary, and qualifications.

  • You must have a valid job offer from an employer in the Netherlands
