Though international students can enroll in courses taught in English, learning Spanish is beneficial. Spanish is not required for admission to universities in the country.
However, most universities with Spanish programs require applicants to have a good command of the language and pass a Spanish language test. The primary Spanish test accepted is the DELE test (Diploma de Español Como Lengua Extranjera).
If you have decided to pursue an English course, you must demonstrate your proficiency in the language by passing either the IELTS or Cambridge Advanced.
