H-1B cap registration Process
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has extended the initial registration period for the fiscal year (FY) 2025 H-1B cap. The date was originally scheduled to end on March 22, 2024, but the registration period will continue till March 25, 2024.
This extension was made for registrants who experienced interruption during their registration. The USCIS aims to accommodate overwhelmed individuals by giving them additional time.
Potential petitioners and their representatives must use the USCIS online account to register each beneficiary for the selection process electronically. Additional fees have to be paid by every beneficiary for the selection process. The USCIS announces that Individuals will be notified by March 31, 2024, if selected.

“myUSCIS” organizational account
The USCIS introduced a new “myUSCIS” organizational account to make it easy for multiple individuals within the organization to register for H1-B and associated Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service.
USCIS also initiated Tech Talks sessions in February 2024 to seek clarification regarding organizational accounts and online filing of Form I-129 for H-1B petitions."

Steps to apply for H1B visa
- Step 1: Complete the Non-immigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) form. Complete the DS-160 Form carefully, as you cannot make any changes later.
- Step 2: Pay the required visa fee once you have completed the DS-160.
- Step 3: Two appointments should be scheduled, one for the Visa Application Centre (VAC) and one for the visa interview at the Embassy or Consulate.
- Step 4: Ensure you take all the required documents for the Visa Application Centre (VAC) appointment.
- Step 5: After you visit the Visa Application Centre, have your photo and fingerprints taken. Then, visit the U.S. Embassy or Consulate on the date and time of your visa interview and the required documents.
