The UK Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa will now also be available to exceptionally talented fashion designers. It was previously reserved for those with outstanding talent in arts, engineering, science, humanities, medicine or technology.
To qualify for this Visa, the applicants must prove that they have made path-breaking contributions to their areas of expertise. Also, the applicant must be from outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area.
To attract more people to the UK with extraordinary talent, the cap for this Visa has been doubled to 2000 per year. This has been announced by the UK Visa and Immigration, Home Office.
Unlike the UK Tier 2 General Visa, this Visa does not require you to have a prior employment offer. The UK Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa allows you to work for any employer in the UK. You may also be self-employed.
Also, you may switch jobs without notifying the Home Office under this Visa. This Visa also permits you to perform voluntary work.
You may also travel overseas and return back to the UK. You can also bring your Spouse and children to the UK.
The UK Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa allows you to stay in the UK for up to 5 years. You may extend this Visa for another 5 years as well.
You may apply for settlement in the UK after completion of 3 years on this Visa.
