Work Permit for Teachers
Mohammad Al Mualla, undersecretary for Academic Affairs in the Ministry of Education, said, “The new work permit was introduced to provide private lessons, which will control illegal practices when hiring private teachers.” The applications can be directly applied through MoHRE digital platforms under the private teacher WORK PERMIT Section. Offering lessons without a work permit is illegal and may result in penalties.

Eligibility of New Work Permit
Registered teachers, employed professionals, and students between the ages of 15 to 18 are eligible to apply for new work permits through the MoHRE digital platform.
Validity and Cost of New Work Permit
This new work permit is free of charge, and the permit is valid for two years. Those teachers who have received work permits can offer private lessons from their homes and generate direct income; they should provide a ‘code of conduct’ approved by the ministry.

The processing time for this new work permit is 5 days

- Valid UAE passport or Emirates ID
- Signed declaration
- NOC (No objection certificate) from the employer
- Certificate of Good Conduct
- NOC from guardian
