Northern Inland is one among the 8 NSW Australia Subclass 489 Visa sponsoring Regional Authorities. It has declared removal of a few jobs with effect from 28.9.2018.
Below are the occupations that will be eliminated from the Northern Inland Regional Development Australia Occupation List:
- 254423 - Peri-operative Registered Nurse
- 254424 – Surgical Registered Nurse

The Australia Subclass 489 Visa is a regional and skilled nominated and provisional visa. It permits the holders to work and stay in NSW region for up to 4 years, as quoted by the SBS.
The 489 Visa also offers a pathway to Australia PR. The Visa holders must reside for a minimum 2 years and work for a minimum 1 year in a specific NSW region. They are then qualified to apply for Australia PR at a later stage.
Department of Industry NSW works in collaboration with the participating RDA - Regional Development Authorities committees. This is for delivering the 489 Visa program. Under this arrangement, participating RDAs of NSW can choose and nominate candidates whose skills are demanded in their region. They can also determine any extra criteria for eligibility as well as their own list of occupations that qualify.

- Northern Inland
- Southern Inland
