
Australia is all set to make some significant changes to its Skilled Occupation Lists in the coming year. There are numerous occupations that may be removed or added to the SOLs of Australia. The changes may come into effect by March 2020.
The following occupations may be removed from the SOLs by the Dept. of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business:
- Careers Counsellor
- Gymnastics Coach or Instructor
- Vehicle Trimmer
- Diving Instructor (Open water)
- Business Machine Mechanic
- Community Worker
- Animal Attendants and Trainers
- Massage Therapist
- Gardener (General)
- Wood Machinist
- Hairdresser
The following occupations have been proposed to be added to the Skilled Occupation Lists:
- Corporate Treasurer
- Personal Care Assistant
- Nursing Support Worker
- Aged or Disabled Carer
The following occupations will have a salary caveat of AUD 65,000:
- Poultry Farmer
- Fitter and Turner
- Baker
- Horse Trainer
- Pastrycook
The proposed salary caveat for sportspersons is AUD 120,000.
