Starting January 1, 2025, students applying for a Subclass 500 Student visa must provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). The Student dependent visa in Australia allows international students to bring their family to the country while they continue their studies. You can bring your immediate family members, including dependent children under 18 years of age, partners/spouses, etc.
The new rules for the Australian student dependent visa include the following:
- The spouse must be legally wedded to the visa applicant for a minimum of 12 months
- The dependent child must be under 18 years of age and submit evidence of their financial dependency on the visa holder
- The student visa holder must submit proof of sufficient funds to support the sponsoring dependent
- Meet the character requirements as per the Australian standards
