In some instances, you can extend your medical treatment visa. However, there are certain factors based on which the visa can be extended, such as:
- If the patient cannot leave/travel outside the country, it will put their life at risk.
- The medical treatment the patient is receiving must be continued to survive and get fit.
If the patient's life is not risky if they leave the current medical treatment, then the country authorities will not extend the Sweden Medical treatment visa. Instead, they will ask you to seek further medical assistance from the country after 90 days or to apply for a national medical treatment visa in the respective country.
