New Brunswick may now issue an ITA to an Express Entry candidate even though they may not have applied to the province.
On 26th July, New Brunswick PNP published an
update stating that it will, on some occasions, directly invite candidates from
the EE Pool. The candidates will be invited based on the labour market needs in
the province.
The Express Entry Program handles candidates’ applications
for Canada’s main economic migration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experienced Class
To apply under the Express Entry program, candidates need to
fill in an online Expression of Interest. Candidates are then ranked based on
their CRS Score which is calculated based on their education, age, work
experience, language skills etc.
Highest ranked candidates get invited through regular
Express Entry pool draws.
Provincial Nominee Programs allow provinces and territories
in Canada to nominate candidates for a Canadian Permanent Residence. Getting a
provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate’s CRS score, as quoted by
CIC News.
Many provinces in
Canada have Express Entry linked immigration programs which perform a targeted
search of the EE pool. Notable ones are:
- Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream
- Alberta’s Express Entry Stream
- Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities Stream
Candidates in the EE
pool who receive an invitation from New Brunswick will get a Letter of Interest
in their EE accounts.
Eligible candidates
who have been invited would need to meet the eligibility criteria of the NBPNP
EE Labour Market Stream.
The new approach will be used by New Brunswick along with
the EOI-based invites issued through the EE Labour Market Stream.
