The Government is making changes so that Spouses of CSEP - Critical Skills Employment Permit holders easily get Ireland Work Visas. This is applicable to non-EU immigrants.
The immigration
rules had difficulties that were creating hurdles for firms in Ireland. This is
for attracting overseas workers who
possess in-demand skills.
Ireland
introduced the Critical Skills Employment Permit to attract overseas talents.
These were not readily available in the nation or EEA - European Economic Area. CSEP holders could be accompanied by
their family members. Their dependent partner or spouse could also apply for
specific Ireland Work Visas.
However, there
were administrative and bureaucratic hurdles that were making the process
tougher for these applicants. The Government has now thus declared changes to ease the process for spouses and
partners of CSEP holders. They will now be offered full and immediate access to the labour market in Canada, as
quoted by the RTE IE.
Heather Humphreys the Business, Enterprise, and
Innovation Minister said that this group may be
small now. It is less than 1,000 partners and spouses annually. However, this
small alteration will make a big
difference. This is in terms of what Ireland offers to both overseas
talents and investors, she added.
The Minister
added that many of the partners and
spouses of CSEP holders are also highly skilled. In many cases, their
families exit Ireland than earlier as partners or spouses could not get Ireland
Work Visas, she said.
Charlie Flanagan the Justice Minister said that eligible de facto partners and spouses will be offered
immigration authorization. This is upon arrival in Ireland and it will offer automatic work rights, he added.
It is his department that has assisted
in bringing this big change.
This will help
CSEP holders and their family members to establish quickly in Ireland said,
Flanagan. It will also assist their assimilation in the society, he added.
