
Shanghai has launched many initiatives in recent years to facilitate the Entrepreneur Visa for overseas nationals. It also encourages them to launch their business ventures in the city by establishing Start-ups.
Overseas
nationals who graduate from Chinese Universities are permitted by Shanghai to
apply for Entrepreneur Visa. They must also have lived in the city for their
business plans. This Visa permits them to remain
in China while they launch their own business in a year.
The initiative
is a part of the ambitious aims of Shanghai to become an international hub for Technology and Science by 2030. It has also
begun to offer the Entrepreneur Visa to graduates of renowned foreign
universities in the last 2 years. They must possess an innovative business plan
as an Entrepreneur in Shanghai.

continue to play a facilitative role for immigrants for launching their
business plans in Shanghai. The city has developed an ambiance for attracting overseas talents for showing their
innovative abilities.
Some overseas
entrepreneurs in the city are of the view that incubators here play a huge role
in executing their business plans from scratch.
An Entrepreneur
from Italy Barbaro Vaccaro launched her "Barbara Art Studio" in
January this year in Shanghai. She said that the incubator assisted in understanding all the paperwork regarding the
Visa and license application. It introduced us to the appropriate business
opportunities and assisted in building more connections in the city, she added.
The official
records reveal that approximately 600
firms were launched by overseas Entrepreneurs in the Yangpu district. It is
a demonstration zone of the municipality of innovation and mass
entrepreneurship.
The latest Government statistics show that 210,000
immigrants from 167 nations work in Shanghai. It
accounts for almost 25% of the goal at the national level. This is also the
largest amongst the cities in China, as quoted by the EN Business Times CN.
Exit-Entry Administration Bureau in Shanghai said that the overseas immigrants in the city find it is easier now
to renew their Visas They can also easily apply for PR Visa after new rules
became effective this month The latest policies in Shanghai mandate lesser
documents from the immigrants.
