Australia PR Visa through General Skilled Migration nomination through State Sponsorship process has been opened by Queensland for overseas applicants. The requirements for the overseas applicants are:
- Having an occupation on the QSOL that is for applicants not currently employed in Queensland /overseas
- Fulfill the specialization or other requirements for specific occupations
- Offer evidence of having minimum 2 years work experience post-qualification in the nominated occupation / higher if needed
- Commit to reside and work permanently in Queensland from the date you arrive in the state
- The job offers must be related to your occupation wherever so required
- Evidence showing acceptance of the job offer
Along with the above, applicants are required to cater to the basic minimum requirements specified by the Department of Home Affairs.
Hiring firms are required to offer proof that they are registered in Queensland. This is also applicable to overseas hiring firms, as quoted by the SBS.
Kindly note:
Overseas Doctoral graduate applicants can be eligible for a waiver of the work experience. This is if they possess a minimum 1-year job offer from an employer registered in Queensland, Australia. The job offer must be related to the occupation and proof for acceptance of the offer is required.
Doctoral graduate applicants from QLD University can be eligible for an Australia PR Visa via Subclass 190 Skilled Nomination Permanent Visa. This category permits the applicants to work in live in Queensland permanently.
The occupation of the applicants must be included on the DHA’s appropriate list of skilled occupations to qualify for the skilled visa state nomination from Queensland.
