Quebec will speed up the processing of Canada PR Visa applications by implementing fresh immigration rules. This was announced by David Heurtel the Immigration Minister of Quebec. The new rules are likely to be implemented by his Ministry from 2 August 2018, he added.
The new immigration rules were first outlined by Quebec in March 2018. It includes a new system of Expression of Interest. This will replace its application process of first-served for first-come for Skilled Worker Program Quebec. It will also replace the application portal Mon Project Quebec, as quoted by the CIC News.
The Minister said that new rules are aimed at decreasing the processing times for Canada PR Visa applications. They are also designed to assist Quebec in optimizing the perspective of its immigration system. This is to propel the economic growth of the province, added David Heurtel.
The Quebec Government administers a self-governing immigration system. It has significant freedom in the creation of its own programs for immigration.
David Heurtel the Immigration Minister of Quebec had said in May this year that the province aims to decrease the processing times. This was specifically for applicants of economic immigration streams, he added.
Quebec Ministry of Immigration, Diversity, and Inclusion had also announced the specified areas of changes in immigration rules. The process of submitting Canada PR Visa applications under QWSP will have altered steps in the process, added MIDI.
MIDI is shortly expected to announce the details regarding the new Expression of Interest system of Quebec. This is inclusive of criterions for ranking.
