Nova Scotia in Canada held a fresh draw for immigrants/candidates in Express Entry on 3 June. It targeted candidates with experience in NOC 4214 - Early Childhood Educators and Assistants.
The invitations
were offered through the Stream Labour
Market Priorities. It permits Nova Scotia to seek candidates in Federal
Express Entry pool. This is with qualified work experience in an occupation
that is experiencing scarcity of workers in the labour market.
A record number
of fresh PR Visa holders were
welcomed by the Nova Scotia province in 2018. This was inclusive of several
immigrants who arrived through the NSNP - Nova
Scotia Nominee Program.
The NSNP permits
Nova Scotia to select a fixed number of immigrants for Canada PR Visa annually.
This is through 8 streams that are customized to meet the unique economic needs
of the province.
Out of the 8
streams, 3 are aligned with the Express Entry system. This system administers
the applicants for 3 of the chief economic
immigration streams of Canada. These are Federal Skilled Trades Class, the
Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class.
Candidates in
Express Entry who get a nomination from Nova Scotia get 600 points added
towards their Comprehensive Ranking
System score. This effectively speeds up an ITA for Canada PR for them, as
quoted by the CIC News.
Aspiring
immigrants must first create a profile
for them in the Express Entry pool. This is for being considered through the
Labour Market Priorities Stream of Nova Scotia.
The draw held on
June 3 was the second through the LMP stream that targeted candidates in
Express Entry with work experience in NOC 4214. The other criteria for
selection include:
• Evidence that the candidate has obtained Post-secondary education in early
childhood education for kids aged 0 to 8 years
• Evidence that the applicant has completed a
2 or more year’s program at a College, University, Technical or Trade school or
other institute
• Reference
letters from employers demonstrating proof of at least 5 years of work
experience in NOC 4214
• Must have submitted their profile in
Express Entry on or later than 8 August 2018
The LMP stream
has been used 4 times after its creation in 2018 August. It has held 2 rounds
of invitations for Early Childhood Educators. It has also held one round each
for Financial Auditors and Accountants
as well as candidates in Express Entry with French as their first official language.
