My Journey as a Software Developer from India to Canada
Background and Family Life
I was born into a higher middle-class family and am the eldest child of my parents. Four years later, my younger sister was born. As the only children on both sides of our family, we grew up with a lot of love and care. We were a happy family of four, always supporting and encouraging each other.
Education and Early Career
I studied in some of the best schools in my city and was a good student. I always believed in living in the moment rather than planning too much for the future. I shared a very close bond with my father, who advised me to study Information Technology, as he felt it suited me well. Trusting his guidance and following my interest, I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology.
After graduation, I joined one of the world’s leading IT service companies as a Software Engineer. A few years later, I switched to another global IT company, which gave me the opportunity to work in the United States for one year. That experience helped me grow both professionally and personally.
Why I Chose Canada
After returning from the US, I felt something was missing and wanted to move back. However, due to stricter US immigration policies, that plan did not work out. That is when I started exploring other options and decided to apply for Canada Permanent Residency (PR). During my research, I came across Y-Axis, and from that point, my immigration journey became much smoother.

Express Entry – The Start of My Canada PR Journey
Canada’s Express Entry system was introduced by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to make the immigration process faster and easier for skilled workers. It helps qualified professionals apply for Canada Permanent Residency based on their skills, education, work experience, and language ability. Throughout my Express Entry journey, Y-Axis handled the complete process, guided me at every step, and ensured that my application was prepared and submitted correctly.
How Y-Axis Supported Me as a Software Engineer
Eligibility Check
As a Software Engineer, the first step was to check whether my profile met Canada’s immigration requirements. Using the Y-Axis Canada Immigration Points Calculator, I checked my eligibility based on my education, work experience, age, and language skills. I scored 80 points, which confirmed that my software engineering profile was suitable for the Express Entry system.
Resume Preparation
Y-Axis helped me create a Canada-style professional resume with their resume writing services that clearly highlighted my software development skills, technical expertise, project experience, and work history. The resume was tailored for job searches in Ontario, Canada, making it suitable for IT employers and recruiters in the Canadian market.
IELTS Coaching
To meet the language requirements for Express Entry, I enrolled in IELTS coaching with Y-Axis. The trainers explained the exam pattern clearly and helped me improve my speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Since a score above 7 is important for skilled professionals, I practiced regularly and achieved a strong score, which helped my Express Entry profile.
Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
As a Software Engineer with an Indian degree, I needed an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to prove that my qualification was equal to Canadian standards. Y-Axis guided me through the entire ECA process and helped me complete the report quickly, which is mandatory for applying through Express Entry.
Finding Jobs in Canada
Y-Axis also supported me with finding the right job for software development roles in Ontario. Their team connected with overseas employers based on my technical skills, experience, and job preferences. With their continuous efforts, I received a job offer from a well-known IT company in Toronto, Ontario, which strengthened my career prospects in Canada.
Visa Interview Preparation
Y-Axis prepared me thoroughly for the visa interview by explaining possible questions related to my software engineering background, work experience, and career plans in Canada. This preparation helped me attend the interview with confidence and clear it successfully.
Invitation to Apply (ITA)
With strong support from my family and my father’s valuable guidance, my Express Entry profile was well prepared. Because of my strong software engineering background and complete documentation, I received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada Permanent Residency.
Applying for Canada PR
After receiving the ITA, I started my Canada PR application. The Y-Axis team provided a detailed document checklist and supported me at every stage of the process. With their guidance, I submitted my PR application to IRCC correctly and on time.
The entire application process took about six months, and soon after approval, I finally boarded my flight to Toronto, Canada, to begin the next chapter of my career as a Software Engineer.

Life in Ontario, Canada
Moving to Toronto has been one of the biggest achievements of my life. Canadians are friendly and welcoming, and the country truly embraces multiculturalism. I found accommodation close to my workplace, which made settling in easier. Every day, I am becoming more comfortable with both my work and life in Canada.
Looking Ahead for the Future in Canada
I now plan to bring my parents to Canada, as I have grown even closer to them over the years. This journey has helped me understand my goals and what truly matters in my life. If you are planning to immigrate to Canada, I strongly recommend Y-Axis. They guided me at every step and made my dream come true. As they say, the right path is the Y-path.
