Six companies have been given the go-ahead to hire foreign housekeepers for Japanese homes as they plan to increase staffing of such workers over 2,500 by 2021.
This has been necessitated as Japan is trying hard to keep up its economic growth as its population is decreasing and housekeeping services are slated pay a crucial role in keeping people in the labour force.
The foreign staff of Nichii Gakkan's will increase to 1,000 by 2019 while Pasona Group is expected to touch that number by 2020. On the other hand, Bears is looking at accepting 300 overseas staff over the next three years and Poppins is planning to hire more than 100 foreigners by 2020.
Similarly, Pinay International is looking to add hundreds of employees and Duskin is also expecting to hire 100 new staff until 2021.
More Japanese people are reportedly keen on availing housekeeping services of foreigners.
Pasona Group was quoted by Nikkei as saying that enquiries have risen for housekeepers, with some of them waiting for up to a month.
Nichii Gakkan feels that hiring foreign staff with substantial work experience will, in turn, improve the quality of service of Japanese staff.
