According to local media reports, Italy has around 65,000 job vacancies for nurses as of 2024. The Italian Government is planning to welcome 50,000 foreign nurses in 2025 to address the labour market requirement in this sector.

Eased rules for foreign nurses in Italy
The government of Italy is implementing flexible rules to attract more foreign nurses in Italy. The country will be setting up Italian language centres in India to recognise foreign educational qualifications and skills of workers willing to work in Italy.
The minimum educational qualifications to become a nurse in Italy include having a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in the Science of Nursing or a three-and-a-half-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
