Indians have received the highest 42% of all Canada PR ITAs in 2017 with 36,310 ITAs of the total 86,022 ITAs offered in the year. This has been revealed by the latest report of the Government of Canada for Express Entry system of economic immigration.
India leads the chart with an overwhelming 42% of the entire Canada PR ITAs while China was a distant second with 9% or 7, 466 ITAs.

The above data along with diverse interesting insights for the Express Entry system have been revealed by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. It is as a part of the review of the economic immigration system Express Entry for 2017.
The report also reveals that top 3 jobs that received the Canada PR ITAs in 2017 were all from the IT sector. This sector is tapping highly skilled talent from India for a while now, as quoted by the CIC News.
The top IT occupations were:
- Consultants and Information Systems Analysts
- Computer Programmers and Software Engineers
- Interactive Media Developers
The report also reveals the number of PR immigrants’ intakes by Canadian provinces. The top 3 provinces for accepting PR immigrants in 2017 were Ontario, BC, and Alberta.
Considerable increases were also witnessed y the New Brunswick, Nova Scotia provinces of Atlantic Canada. There was a 40% hike in all 3 economic programs managed by the Provincial Nominee Programs and Express Entry System categories.
