Ukraine

Indians will now get visas on arrival in Ukraine. The new regime became effective in April when Ukraine extended the VoA (visa on arrival) facility to 19 nations in order to improve the country’s economy.

The Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that single-entry visas for tourists or business people can now be issued once they arrive at the country’s airports in Kiev and Odessa.

Citizens of other countries which would be allowed VoA facility include Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Honduras, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UAE and some others.

But travellers still need to prove that they have adequate financial resources for their period of stay in Ukraine. According to Muscat Daily, Ukraine is popular with tourists coming from European countries, apart from Turkey and Israel.

An official of a travel agency said that as Ukraine has eased visa rules, the country’s popularity will only grow. The visa-exemption agreements have been rolled out as Ukrainians have been allowed visa-free travel to the European Union from 11 June 2017, taking the country closer to joining the EU family. Citizens of Ukraine can travel to the member states of the EU for a period of 90 days on business or tourism.
