The reason for raising this ranking was the DIBP (Department for Immigration and Border Protection) Australia’s recent notification, which undertook changes in its SSVF (Simplified Student Visa Framework). This new rule has moved up India to Level II 'moderate risk', up from Level III 'high risk' rating. It is a fact that India sends the second largest number of students to Australia, lagging only behind China. This ranking will, therefore, prompt more students from India to choose Down Under for studying, says The Times of India.
Now, a student would be able to enter Australia with only a passport and a confirmation of enrollment from the university, stating that the student has been admitted. This is a major improvement from recent times when students of this country were required to provide SOP (Statement of Purpose), bank statements and statements of family income.
