India & Russia agreement on cyberspace, visas, investments, etc.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed five agreements with Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar on 3 December. The five areas they signed agreements on included cyberspace, visas, investments, etc.

The Press Trust of India quotes Modi as saying that his Qatari counterpart’s visit demonstrated the strengthening bilateral relations between India and the country located in the Arabian Peninsula.

Vikas Swarup, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson, said that one of the agreements signed on was for visa exemption for people holding diplomatic, official and special passports, in addition to collaborating technically in fighting cybercrime and in other areas of cyberspace and a letter of intent with respect to discussions on a pact on issuance of e-visas for businessmen and tourists.

The visa agreement will let official, diplomatic and special passport holders of both the countries to enter each other’s territories without visas.
