Japan is about to welcome more Immigrants in 2019. It is a part of their new Immigration program. It was launched in the first week of April. Immigrants had to sit for a qualification exam held across the country.
The exam for Work
Visa took place on April 14, 2019. The
exam was meant for checking the following two aspects in the Immigrants -

Trough these multiple exams, Japan hopes to ease its employee shortage across
the country.
Japan created a new Immigration Program

policy change from its traditional stricter Immigration Rules. The country is
in dire need of labors across various sectors. In the next 5 years, Japan aims
at welcoming nearly 3,50,000 Immigrants to the country.
Japan has created
a new Resident Visa called Specified Skilled Worker No. 1. This Program hopes
to ease the labor shortage in 14 different sectors such as nursing,
construction, and accommodation. Immigrants acquiring this Work Visa can stay
in Japan for up to 5 years.
Nearly 400
Immigrants took the exam for attaining the Work Visa, as quoted by The

The exam comprised a written test for evaluating the following skills -
- Customer Service

Service Industry
Most of the applicants
