What is a National Interest Waiver?
National Interest Waiver (NIW) is an option for individuals to obtain PR for the US without a job offer. The NIW focuses on individuals with “extraordinary abilities” in science, business, arts, or any other profession that brings substantial potential to benefit the United States' economy. Qualifications for the NIW include an advanced degree or relevant experience. The foreign worker must plan to work in the field of national importance in the US.
