The following are the types of Australian permanent work visas:

  • Employer Nomination Scheme Visa: This visa is for skilled workers who have been nominated by any employer based in Australia. Candidates can live and work permanently on this visa.
  • Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Visa: Under this visa, an Australian-based employer nominates skilled workers to live and work permanently in a regional area of the country.
  • Skilled Independent Visa: This visa is a point-tested visa, also known as Subclass 189. This visa is specially designed for skilled workers who have not been sponsored by any Australian employer. Candidates must score at least 60 points on the point assessment to become eligible for the visa.
  • Skilled Nominated Visa: Skilled migrant workers can migrate and live in Australia upon getting a nomination from any state or territory with this visa. This visa is also known as Subclass 190.
  • Distinguished Talent Visa: Foreigners who have been globally recognized for exceptional achievement in professions, arts, academics, sports, and research can apply for this visa.
