The Migration Partnership Agreement has been signed by India and Italy to smooth the activity of students and professionals
The two leaders of India and Italy signed the Agreement to smooth the movement of workers, students, and professionals. This Agreement was signed after the two leaders held a detailed discussion of various international issues.
Details of India and Italy MoU Agreement
Mr. S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, and Mr. Antonio Tajani, the partnership agreement of Mobility and Migration, had discussions over international affairs and decided to sign an agreement that will enable the smooth movement of workers and students. The meeting between both the leaders was about various issues including the West Asia situation, the Indo-Pacific landscape, and the Ukraine conflict. They also discussed the deepening of strategic partnership.
Mr. S. Jaishankar, after the meeting, mentioned that the support of Italy for our first move and the G20 Presidency is appreciable. He also mentioned that towards the end of their discussions, they signed the Migration Partnership Agreement and the Cultural Exchange Programme. The most important point is that Italy has the third-largest Indians in Europe, behind the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, with a population of about 1,80,000. In Italy, for first-generation immigrants, employment mostly lies in the sectors like dairy farming, leather industry, agriculture, and construction.
