Family inclusion and language requirements
France has recently tightened the language proficiency standards for some residency cards. The bar has been raised for cards from A1 to A2 and for the 10-year carte de resident from A2 to B1. However, holders of the talent passport remain unaffected and are exempt from these constraints.
Spouses and children of passport holders can apply for multi-year residence permits upon arrival, allowing over-18s to work in the nation. These permits can be obtained from local police stations.
Duration and Renewal of Talent Passport in France
- To be eligible, the working contract and the duration of the stay in France must be more than three months.
- Highly qualified workers must have a contract lasting at least a year.
- Candidates can obtain a four-year multi-year residence visa within two months of arrival if they maintain the work type and remuneration requirements.
