Aspiring immigrant applicants must note that WES has launched a new process for verification that may take up to 7 weeks. Thus, applicants who have applied for the Educational Credentials Assessment - ECA must be aware of this.
The immigrant applicants who have applied for evaluation will get a status for ‘verification’ in their account when:
- The documents offered by the applicant are different from the documents received by WES from the same system or institution of education
- The documents received were offered from a specific nation, institution or in a specific situation that necessitates confirmation of the authenticity of the institution or documents
In this period, the documents of the immigrant applicants will be sent by WES for verification to the issuing authority or institution. No action by the applicants is required during this period, as quoted by the CIC News. The process of verification may take up to 7 weeks. It depends on how fast the institution responds to the WES request.
If WES does not receive a response from the institution within 7 weeks, the immigrant applicants need not take any action. WES will by default send another request.
The verification process can take some time. But it has several advantages that will result in a verified and accurate WES evaluation report. This is accepted and trusted by 1000s of institutions in North America.
