8 ways you can get a US Green card

  1. Through Family member

If you are a family member of a U.S. Citizen, you can get a U.S. green card. The U.S. citizen has to be your immediate family member, like a fiancé or widower.

 

  1. Through Employment

An immigrant who has invested $1 million in a new commercial or is interested in establishing a company that will create full-time job opportunities for at least 10 people in the United States will qualify to get a US Green Card.

 

  1. As a Special Immigrant

An immigrant working in the U.S. with expertise in arts, sciences, business, education, or athletics will be eligible for a US Green Card under the Special immigrant category. Also, physicians who perform full-time clinical practice for a certain period will get a US Green Card.

 

  1. Through Asylum Status

If you have been given asylum status or if you were admitted as a refugee at least one year ago in the United States, you are eligible for a Green Card.

 

  1. For Human Trafficking

You can be eligible if you are a sufferer of human trafficking and hold a T non-immigrant visa currently. Eligibility also includes if you are holding a U non-immigrant visa.

 

  1. Victims of Abuse

You will get a US Green Card if you can apply as a VAWA (Violence against Women Act). This includes if you are an abused parent, child, or spouse of a U.S. Citizen or an abused spouse or child of a Cuban citizen.

You will be eligible if you come under the below categories:

  • If you are a Liberian national and have had a continuous physical presence in the United States since November 20, 2014.
  • Born in the United States to a foreign diplomat.
  • If you are selected for a diversity visa in the Department of State's diversity visa lottery.
  • You are a Cuban native or citizen.

 

  1. Through Registry

An immigrant settling in the United States before January 1, 1972, will be eligible for a Green Card.
