
Australia Family Visa applications filing methods for certain categories have been changed by the Department of Home Affairs with effect from 1 July 2018. Below are the updates:
Australia Partner and Prospective Marriage Visas
Applications for Australia Partner and Prospective Marriage Visas need to be filed online now through Immi Account. This includes Subclass 300, 100, 309, 801 and 820 Visas. Payments for the visa applications charges must also be done through the Immi Account portal. In person and paper applications will no longer be accepted, as quoted by the SBS.
Australia Other Family Visas
The applications for this category of Australia Family Visa must be sent by courier service or post to the Visa and Citizenship Office Perth. It will not be possible for applicants to file applications at contacted Service Delivery Partners or overseas offices. It includes:
- Subclass 836 and 116 Carer Visas
- Subclass 835 and 115 Remaining Relative Visas
- Subclass 838 and 117 Aged Dependent Relative Visas
Sponsorship and application forms for the above categories of visas are available on the DHA website. Visa application charge payment can be done through the Immi Account portal online. Online filing is not available for the Australia Other Family Visas.
Applications that have been filed at the overseas office and have not been finalized are being transferred to the processing Perth office now. Applicants will be intimated when their applications have been transferred.
Australia Parent Visas
The applications for this category of Australia Family Visa must be sent by courier service or post to the Visa and Citizenship Office Perth. This includes Subclass 864, 884, 143, 173, 804, and 103 Visas. In-person applications will no longer be accepted.
