The Canadian Express Entry conducted its latest invitation round on 24th July. 3,600 candidates were invited with CRS scores of 459 or above.
The cut-off score dropped by 1 point in the latest draw as compared to 460 points in the 10th July draw.
The 24th July draw was the second consecutive draw to invite 3,600 candidates. There was an increase of 250 ITAs as compared to the previous draws between 30th January and 26th June. Each of the draws between January and June issued 3,350 invitations, as per CIC News.
The latest draw continued the trend of dropping CRS scores. This can be attributed to the two-week gap between two subsequent draws.
An important factor that affects the CRS scores is the time between draws. A shorter gap between draws means that fewer candidates get a chance to enter the EE Pool.
Another important determinant for CRS scores is the size of the draw. Larger draw sizes result in candidates with lower scores get an ITA.
So far in 2019, IRCC has issued 49,000 ITA for Canadian Permanent Residence.
Canada has increased the admission target for the next 3 years. Hence, it is possible that 2019 will exceed the record of 89,800 ITAs issued in 2018.
Several Provincial Nominee Programs aligned with the Express Entry program has also been active in the last few weeks. EE-aligned PNP streams of Manitoba, Ontario, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island have invited EE candidates for a provincial nomination.
Ontario conducted its first-ever tech draw under its Human Capital Priorities Stream. It invited 1623 candidates from the Express Entry Pool for a provincial nomination. Invited candidates had work experience in 6 in-demand tech occupations and had a CRS score in the range of 439 and 459.
