The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program [CELPIP] tests are Canada’s general English language tests. CELPIP Test results can be used for the purpose of Canadian immigration and professional designation.
The Test is specifically designed for the purposes of assessing a test taker’s abilities in the English language in different everyday situations.
Computer-delivered and in only one sitting, the CELPIP is generally looked upon as a comparatively simpler English test as it involves easy-to-understand English and vocabulary that is based on everyday situations that most of us might encounter in our daily lives. Situations such as communicating in the workplace, interpreting written materials, understanding the news, and interaction with friends.

How are CELPIP reading and writing scores determined?
To ensure accuracy, multiple evaluators check the performance of every individual test taker. Every person’s speaking evaluation on the CELPIP exam includes a minimum of three categories from independent evaluators who have no knowledge of other category scores; in the same way, the writing exam involves at least four neutral evaluators. Together, all the evaluators provide a detailed presentation of a candidate’s abilities in both spoken and written English language proficiency.

As seen above, the tests are broken down into the following categories:
Speaking: Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Listening ability, and Task Fulfilment
Writing: Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Readability, and Task Fulfilment

To receive a physical copy of the official score result, you should pay an additional fee through your CELPIP Account.
