The immigration process for Canada Family Class sponsorship varies based on the location where the sponsored individual resides currently. It also depends on the destination in Canada where the individual would like to reside.
A sponsored
individual can apply from:
• Inside Canada of the applicant is the
common-law partner or spouse of the Canadian Sponsor: or
• Outside Canada
For Sponsored individuals applying from inside Canada (common-law partner or spouse and their dependent kids only):
• The sponsor in Canada must file the
application for sponsorship to the Canada
Immigration Case Processing Centre situated in Vegreville, Alberta
• The Canada Permanent Residence Application
for the sponsored individuals must also be filed at the Canada Immigration Case
Processing Centre situated in Vegreville, Alberta
For Sponsored individuals applying from outside
Canada:
• The sponsor in Canada must first file an
application for sponsorship to the Canada Immigration Case Processing Centre
situated Mississauga, Ontario
• The Canada
Permanent Residence Application for the sponsored individuals must also be
filed at the Canada Immigration Case Processing Centre situated Mississauga,
Ontario
The Sponsored
individuals’ application for Permanent Residence will be forwarded to the
appropriate Canadian Immigration Visa
Office located outside of Canada by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
authorities. This is after the application for Family Class Sponsorship has
been approved.
For Sponsored individuals applying to Quebec:
The immigration
process and conditions will be applicable as above, as quoted by the CIC News.
However, the application for Sponsorship will not be approved until the time it
is forwarded to the Quebec province and approved by its immigration
authorities.
