Yes, foreign nationals can bring their family to the US on a B2 visa. The B1 visa is used for short-term business purposes, so it doesn’t allow applicants to bring their family members.

Spouses and children under 21 who wish to accompany the visa holder may apply for a B2 visa. If they wish to visit for vacations only, they may apply for visitor (B-2) visa or, if qualified then can apply for travel visa-free under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).  Common-law spouses and partners are also eligible to apply for B-2 visas.

*Note:  Every family member should have their own B2 visa to accompany their family member.

A foreign national can bring family members to the US through a B2 visa, not a B1, as the latter is a business visa and doesn’t allow family members. For a B2 visa, family members or friends can visit the country for six months.
