The applicants of the British Council IELTS Prizes for 2017 – 18 must be living in the select regions in East Asia. They must also have completed a test of IELTS as of 2017 April. They must be commencing their Postgraduate or Undergraduate studies that mandate a test of IELTS for 2018-19 academic years. The first prize money is $ 53, 200.

- Grand Prize - First year of education fee up to $53,200
- Second Prize - $13,300
- Third Prize - $6,650
Local Prizes - $2,660
