Aspiring immigrants to Australia must note that South Australia has modified the status of some of the occupations in its SOL - Skilled Occupation List. It is applicable to all the applicants of Subclass 489 and 190 Visa through South Australia State Sponsorship.
The status of
following occupations has been changed by South Australia:
• Cook – 351411 – TRA - Provisional 489 Visas only - Competent English -
Special Conditions Apply
• Hairdresser – 391111 - TRA - South Australian graduates must be at present
working in their field in South Australia for the last 12 months - 3 years'
work experience in the field - Competent English - Special Conditions Apply
Applicants must
note that they cannot apply for South
Australia State Sponsorship for occupations that have special conditions
apply unless they fulfil the special criteria. It must also be noted here that
occupations that have the status as Low Availability / Available can exhaust at
any time period.
Applications can
be made to South Australia under the category
of high points (80 points). This is if the occupation is available under
special conditions apply or Supplementary List. It is effective from 2018 July
as quoted by the SBS.
For qualifying
for the State nomination, you must fulfil all the requirements for the
nomination appropriate to your occupation and situation. Eventually, you must
fulfil all the requirements and criteria specified by the Department of Home Affairs in Australia.
You must check
if you have adequate points on the point’s test of the Department of Home
Affairs prior to applying for a State Nomination. This is for applying for the Subclass 489 or 190 Visa. It is also necessary
to check the occupation lists and requirements to see if in case you are
restricted from applying for a state nominated 489 Visa.
State nomination
is offered to meet the requirements of skills in the state. It is offered based
on the genuine interest of the applicant. They must also be committed to reside and work in South
Australia for 2 years from the arrival date with a view to settling in the
long term.
