English Language Requirements for Temporary Graduate Visa (TGV)
- IELTS test scores have been increased from 6.0 to 6.5, with 5.5 being the minimum score for each test component (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) for a Temporary Graduate visa.
- The test validity window has decreased from 3 years to 1 year. Temporary Graduate visa applicants should provide evidence that they have completed an English Language test within 1 year immediately before the date of the visa application.

English Language Requirements for Student Visa
- IELTS test score increases from 5.5 to 6 for a Student visa.
- IELTS increases from 4.5 to 5.0 to undertake a packaged ELICOS.
- There will be no changes for students studying English through ELICOS.
- For students undertaking university foundation, the IELTS test score should be 5.5.
