The Alberta province in Canada has invited 197 candidates in Express Entry with CRS scores as low as 301 to apply for Canada PR. This is through a nomination from the province.
The draw was
held through the stream Alberta Express
Entry on 15th May. AINP - Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program announced the
details of this draw this week.
The AINP forms a
part of the Provincial Nominee Program –
PNPs in Canada. It permits participating territories and provinces to
select candidates for economic immigration. They must fulfil the labour market
needs locally, as quoted by the CIC News.
The Alberta
Express Entry Stream was launched in 2018. It permits the AINP to seek
candidates in the federal Express Entry system. These must fulfil its distinct
eligibility criteria.
The Express
Entry system administers the applicants’ pool for 3 main economic immigration streams in Canada:
• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Trades Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class
Qualified
candidates from these 3 streams are assigned a pool and score as per the Comprehensive Ranking System. The
candidates with highest rank are offered Invitations to Apply for Canada PR
through draws that are held frequently from the pool.
Candidates in
Express Entry who receive a nomination from a province get 600 extra CRS points. This ensures that they get an ITA for
Canada PR from the Government of Canada.
So far in 2019
AINP has offered Canada PR ITAs to 3, 554
candidates in the Express Entry pool. This is through the stream Alberta
Express Entry.
Applicants in
Express Entry must have minimum CRS score of 300 to qualify for the stream
Alberta Express Entry. They must be having a job that supports diversification priorities and economic
development of Alberta amongst other requirements. This is for being
considered for an ITA from the AINP.
